Fatigue Performance of Thin Laser Butt Welds in HSLA Steel

چکیده

This work is focused on understanding the significant factors affecting fatigue strength of laser-welded butt joints in thin high-strength low-alloy (HSLA) steel. The effects weld profile, imperfections, hardness, and residual stresses were considered to explain results found S-N curves four welded series. showed acceptable although series presented multiple-imperfections. analysis behavior at low stress levels through stress-concentrating effect explained influence each factor limits predicted by relationship proposed Murakami good agreement with experimental results.
